How could your work impact on the lives of children across the country?

One of our Professors in the School of Education has been conducting internationally recognised research on early years literacy - empowering parents to help their children to learn. Not just with books or computers, but using toys and other activities to encourage communication and other related behaviours. This work will have a major impact on the lives of children throughout the country. And this is the kind of research that you’ll ultimately support.

As an innovative and creative HR business partner, you’ll support our academics within the Faculty of Social Sciences in carrying out their pioneering research. The Faculty is one of the largest at the University, with around 750 staff. With a large and diverse grouping of thirteen departments, the projects and research activities are many, varied – and fascinating.

What will your role involve?

Based within a departmental HR team that’s received sector-wide acclaim for its diverse and innovative work, you’ll have an ambitious HR agenda to shape. You will deliver a business partner approach to the support of the Faculty of Social Sciences, with the additional expectation of leading discrete corporate wide projects. This will bring a variety of challenges but, as you lead and develop your team, you’ll have the full support of senior managers from within the department and the Faculty. And, as the Faculty’s recognised source of professional employment advice and support you’ll be a member of the Faculty’s Executive Board.
