The Post

Applications are invited from candidates with a passion for teaching, particularly in the core areas of the accounting curriculum. The division is committed to the pursuit of excellence in both teaching and research. The division is growing and highly successful, generating a large income from unregulated markets. It provides a range of both postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, some in combination with other disciplines including economics and business studies. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels particularly in respect of core areas of the accounting curriculum. The person appointed will also be expected to be the lead person on certain accounting modules, develop teaching materials, set and mark assessments and perform related administrative or course management duties. Supervision and marking of student projects and dissertations will also be required. The successful candidate will also provide support and pastoral care to the division’s undergraduate and postgraduate students. A Senior Teaching Scholar would be expected to provide leadership in developing teaching, in administration and in scholarship. In addition, candidates should have an ambition to enhance the School’s external profile, in particular by developing our links, and articulation and accreditation agreements, with the accountancy profession.
