The appointee is expected to undertake world-class research in sport science or recreation management and apply for research grants. He/She is also expected to teach 5 - 6 of the following courses per academic year in undergraduate degree programmes in Sport and Recreation Leadership: (a) Scientific Principles of Human Movement; (b) Research Methods; (c) Individual Differences in Physical Attributes and Movement Patterns; (d) Sport for Persons with Special Needs; (e) Sociology of Sport and Recreation; (f) Nutrition and Health; (g) Planning and Leading Inclusive Activities, and including students’ honors projects supervision. He/She may also need to teach a number of sport skill courses, take up internship planning and supervision as well as perform any administrative duties as assigned.
Applicants should have a relevant doctoral degree with related research and teaching experience.
Terms of appointment:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a competitive package which includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation allowance wherever appropriate. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years commencing September 2013. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
