To strengthen our activities we wish to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Reader in Experimental Materials Physics.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to all activities in the Physics group including teaching, teaching development and research. The successful candidates research profile will have a relevance to the University’s energy theme and a synergy with existing energy related research within the physics group, this research includes experimental and theoretical studies of materials for energy storage, conversion and utilisation.

Experimental facilities available to the post holder include electron microscopes (SEM and TEM), X-Ray diffraction, a focussed ion beam system, a femto-second laser system, a VSM, a suite of Intelligent Gravimetric Analysers and Volumetric gas absorption systems. In addition, a variety of thin film deposition techniques are used including CVD, sputtering and MBE.
