Information Services (IS) is a large service within Staffordshire University and operates across all campuses. IS provides IT, library and learning support for staff, students and external customers.
We are seeking to appoint a Senior IT Officer, within the IT group to provide high quality support for the functions and activities relating to the Networks & Communications Infrastructure which provides services for customers in the University and its partner institutions.
The role will include:-
- Second line technical support
- Maintenance of the network and communications infrastructure
- Configuration and installation of network devices (primarily Cisco)
An advanced level of knowledge and practical experience in any of the following would be of benefit Cisco IP telephony, Cisco network devices, LAN/WAN network architecture, TCP/IP, switching, routing and network trouble shooting.
The person sought will have experience of working within a team and will have excellent communication skills. An advanced level of understanding of network concepts and technologies is essential.
You should be able to demonstrate self motivation, a methodical approach to work and have the ability to work in a pressured environment to meet targets. As a service provider customer focus is key.
