Applications are invited for a 1 yr Research Midwife post in the School of Clinical & Experimental Medicine at the University of Birmingham and Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
The successful applicant(s) will be a registered midwife with a primary degree, who has experience in setting up research studies, clinical trials co-ordination, recruitment into research projects and show good understanding of R&D procedures. Applicants are expected to have worked previously clinically (eg: Band 6-7, F/G grade) and is computer-literate. Recent or current experience of clinical research is advantageous.
The aim of this post is to act as a co-ordinator for the Reproductive Health and Childbirth network (REACH) of the Birmingham and Black Country CLRN providing support for researchers and facilitating recruitment into portfolio studies. The successful candidate will be expected to provide this support to all the units participating in the REACH network. The post holder will have senior academic support to enable them to develop this role by exploring barriers and facilitators to patient recruitment into research studies.
The research midwife will work primarily at UoB, based in the Academic Unit of Birmingham Women’s Hospital but will also be expected to support research staff at other hospitals in the West Midlands network to recruit patients to the same studies if requested.
