Applications are invited for the post of Catering Team Leader in Campus Services.
At Royal Holloway, we provide in excess of 2,500 meals daily in 10 outlets produced from 3 kitchens for students and staff during term time. In addition we cater for conferences during vacations and have a busy function and banqueting business all year round.
The successful candidate will be based in Crosslands, our student bar located within the traditional Founders Building. Used throughout the year for term time activities, as well as for conferences and weddings during the vacations.
Taking every opportunity to enhance the customer experience, you’ll not only focus on fantastic food and great service, but the business side of things too - building customer relationships, managing costs and resources and making sure the catering team is properly supported, trained and developed. Expectations will be high, as will the standards of health, safety and hygiene to which you’ll be working.
You will need to be hard working, cheerful, outgoing and enthusiastic and be able to lead a team ensuring the smooth day to day running of the bar. You will have had previous supervisory experience in bar operations. You will be responsible for the financial performance of the outlet ensuring the income, cost of sales and bottom line budgets are achieved. As the outlet has a very strong food business catering experience is essential.
Candidates will need good communication skills and the ability to work using their initiative, making a contribution as part of a team. Cash handling skills are essential, as are food preparation skills.
This is a full time and permanent post, immediately available or as soon as thereafter. Some weekend and evening work will be involved. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
