Lecturer In Philosophy (One-year, fixed term)

Applications are invited for the post of College Lecturer in Philosophy, in association with the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Oxford. The appointment will be for a fixed period of twelve months from 1 September 2013 to 31st August 2014, to provide teaching cover during the research leave of Professor Cecile Fabre FBA.
The successful candidate will be appointed on one of the first three points of the University’s Grade 7 salary scale (£29,541- £31,331 per annum). He or she must be able to provide undergraduate teaching (in the form of tutorials and lectures) in the areas of Moral and Political Philosophy, and must have active research interests in one or both of these areas. Candidates should normally have received the degree of PhD or DPhil by 1 September 2013, or at least have submitted a completed doctoral dissertation for examination by that date, but candidates who do not meet this requirement may be considered, if they have attained a comparable level through their publications.
