Salary is £32,558 per annum inclusive of London Allowance

Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway University of London. 

This post is funded by a research grant from the Leverhulme Trust awarded to Professor Kathy Rastle (RHUL) and an international team of investigators including Professor Max Coltheart (Macquarie University, Sydney), Dr. Jeremy Tree (Swansea University), and Dr. Betty Mousikou (RHUL). The post will involve the use of behavioural, neuropsychological, and computational modelling techniques to understand the mental processes involved in skilled reading. The primary duties will include: designing and running experiments and computational simulations, analyzing data, and disseminating findings through journal articles, conference presentations, and other methods. 

Applicants should hold a PhD in psychology, cognitive science, or psycholinguistics.  They should have excellent quantitative research skills and experience in designing and conducting behavioural psychological experiments. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and computing skills are also essential. Experience in the computational modelling of reading or other cognitive processes is highly desirable. 

This is a full-time fixed-term post lasting 36 months. The planned start date is 1st September 2013. The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
