Reports to: Head of Department of Sociology and Head of School of Social Sciences and Philosophy
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Lecturer salary Scale in line with current Government Pay Policy. Appointment of this post will be no higher than the 8th point of the Lecturer scale.

Post Summary
The University of Dublin, Trinity College, invites applications for a full-time permanent Assistant Professorship in Sociology (any area of specialisation), Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

The successful candidate, will have a PhD in Sociology or a cognate discipline, will be expected to contribute significantly to the research output and teaching programmes (both undergraduate and postgraduate, including the MPhil in Race, Ethnicity, Conflict) of the Department. S/he will have, relative to career stage, a track record in research, including high-impact scholarship and international publications, teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The appointee will be expected to engage in wider public and policy debates, and to foster collaboration with other Departments in College and external research bodies.

The successful candidate will be expected to be available to discharge the full range of duties associated with this post in teaching, research, administration and contribution to College life and its community over the course of the full calendar year.
