HR Assistant
Maternity Cover
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Fixed Term 1 year, full time
£18,552 to £21,447 per annum
We are: looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Assistant to join the HR team on a temporary fixed term basis for one year.
We are really quite unique: we are the only conservatoire in the UK that offers training in all of the performance disciplines and, as you’d maybe expect, we demand the same high standard from our staff as we do of our students.
You are: someone who won’t be fazed by a demanding, intense and passionate environment. There is always something going on here so as you would imagine, there are often several things at once, and the knack of this role is definitely prioritising and managing competing demands – and you have to be accurate with it as well because errors in our line of work are often highly visible and can have significant consequences.
You must have: proven experience of dealing with high volume recruitment and contractual processes, and be able to communicate well with staff, students and the public alike. You will thrive on the challenge of picking up new systems of working very quickly, and we will need you to be able to pitch in with the workload from day one.
If you’ve worked in a Higher Education or performing arts environment before then this would also be an advantage but equally we value new thinking, fresh approaches and innovative ways of doing things.
We won’t lie to you: We are always moving and changing; running and chasing – it’s full-on every day in here. We’re not about to ask you to step in if Don Giovanni or Donna Anna lose their voice though! While you won’t be the star of the show, you will have an important supporting role. We love nothing more than going along to see our brilliant students in action and everything we do, no matter how small, ultimately helps to pave the path they take. Inspiring stuff! If you think so too, apply via the 'Apply’ button below.
