As part of a project funded by the BBSRC, we are seeking a committed and engaged post doctoral scientists to work on a project investigating the mechanics and control of velocity change (starting, stopping, turning) in human locomotion. The project involves both experimental and simulation components: constructing forward dynamic simulations of non-steady state activity and validating these models against standard biomechanical measures such as kinematics, kinetics, EMG and pressure. This post involves working with a full-time research technician on the project and good computer skills are essential.

The ideal candidate for this position will have relevant experience and have (or shortly expect to get) a PhD in a suitable discipline: biomechanics, engineering, robotics, animal physiology or similar. The position is available from June 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of 3 years full time.
