The Faculty of Health & Social Care has a long standing reputation for excellence in the delivery of professional education, research and practice development. Due to promotion of the current post holder a vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative leader for our Department of Children's Nursing. The post holder will lead a team of up to 40 academic staff, including the Children and Young People’s Cancer Care Team. The Department, in partnership with leading edge Children's Trust and services across London, provide pre-registration BSc (Hons) and PGDip education for around 275 students each year, are further developing band 1-4 opportunities and have an extensive post-registration and MSc portfolio which is accessed by over 48 NHS Trusts.

The Head of Department will ensure the development and delivery of high quality educational opportunities that meet the needs of a modern health and social care children's workforce across the UK and will also support the Department’s extensive research activity. The post holder will be a valued member of the Faculty Executive team in this highly successful Faculty of Health and Social Care that is recognized for its innovation and flexibility. 

This role requires a registered children’s nurse, educated to master’s degree level, preferably with a PhD and who is passionate about children’s nursing. You must be committed to innovation in academic and nursing practice, with an NMC recorded teacher qualification and significant leadership experience.
