Specific Learning Difficulties Adviser

The Role

We are looking for a part time (0.5FTE) Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Adviser to join the Student Support and Wellbeing team for a fixed term of one year to assist the SpLD Team Manager in ensuring the delivery of advice and support for students with specific learning difficulties.

The Person

The ideal applicant with have qualifications in the field of SpLD support with a first degree and experience in similar or related role. Experience of teaching or supporting people who have specific learning difficulties is essential for this role. We are looking for applicants who have knowledge of issues relating to disability support within Higher Education and of the equipment available to support disabled students.

Student Services - Student Support and Wellbeing

Student Support and Wellbeing is a recently formed Service combining the Counselling Service and the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service within the Student Services department. It provides assistance to those students who need extra support to enable them to manage their own educational and personal progression.
