Clinical Associate Professor in Gastroenterology

University of Nottingham -School of Clinical Sciences

Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre

£74,504 - £100,446 per annum depending on seniority

The University of Nottingham invites applications for the above full-time post.  The post-holder will have a major research commitment in conjunction with clinical service and teaching responsibilities.

Gastroenterology in Nottingham has a wide range of research opportunities and our aim is to appoint the strongest candidate regardless of precise research interests. However this post has become available due to the phased retirement of Professor Hawkey and there would be an opportunity, if desired, to take on all or part of the substantial portfolio of major innovative clinical research activity that will persist beyond Professor Hawkey’s retirement. This option may be particularly attractive to those with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and/or the conduct of clinical trials.

The successful candidate will have a higher degree, PhD or DM, or equivalent and MRCP or equivalent with an outstanding track record of achievement, with research interests that will complement and strengthen existing research programmes in Nottingham.

Candidates must be registered with the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview. The person appointed will need to hold full GMC registration with a license to practice at the time of appointment.

This post will be offered on a permanent basis.

It is a condition of this post that satisfactory Enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
