Postdoctoral Research Assistant (Computational Fluid Dynamics & Heat Transfer)
University of Oxford -Department of Engineering Science
Southwell Building, Osney Mead Industrial Estate, Oxford
Grade 7: £29,541 - £36,298 p.a.
We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Professor L He's research group at the Department of Engineering Science (Osney Thermo-fluids Laboratory). The post is funded by the EPSRC grant for a Future Conventional Power Generation Consortium with a number of university and power generation industrial partners, and is fixed-term for three years starting on 15 July 2013 or soon thereafter.
The project will involve development and application of the fluid-solid coupled convection-conduction conjugate heat transfer methodology for steam turbine transient operations. You will be responsible for method development, coding implementation, verification/validation, capability demonstration and applications of the method to interesting and challenging high pressure and high temperature steam turbine problems.
You should possess a PhD in computational fluid dynamics with a proven code development and application experience.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof L. He (email: li.he@eng.ox.ac.uk).
Only applications received before midday on 10 June 2013 can be considered. You will be required to upload a covering letter, a brief statement of research interests (describing how past experience and future plans fit with the advertised position), CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
