Research and Development Fellow

Canterbury Christ Church University -Dementia Services Development

Background

Applications are invited for the post of Research and Development Fellow to contribute to the building of research and development capacity within the region. The post holder will work closely with the Co Director of the England Centre for Practice Development who leads on the dementia care innovations to undertake participatory research and practice development projects and activities.

The Role

By practice development we mean: “a continuous process of developing person-centred cultures; enabled by facilitators who authentically engage with individuals and teams to blend personal qualities and creative imagination with practice skills and practice wisdom. The learning that occurs brings about transformations of individual and team practices. This is sustained by embedding both processes and outcomes in corporate strategy” (Manley, McCormack, & Wilson, 2008, p. 9).

Requirements

The post holder will have previous knowledge and experience of participatory and development research and project work, sufficient breadth of knowledge in dementia care or a related field and of social research approaches, methods and techniques to work within established practice development research programmes and hold a Masters qualification or equivalent. The post requires work to be undertaken across the region.
