Starting salary: £19,056, rising annually to £20,764
 
The External Relations and Events Management Team is responsible for leading on strategy for identifying and engaging effectively with University stakeholders. The team will work with colleagues in faculties and directorates to provide advice, guidance and support for engagement activities and events, as well as provide a comprehensive event management service including organising Open Days and other high profile/strategic University events.
 
This key post provides a comprehensive general administrative support function to the team as a whole and specific support to the Head of External Relations. 

You will be:

  • providing the day to day administrative support to the team
  • supporting the maintenance and updating of records on the team database
  • assisting in the administration and monitoring of team budgets
  • assisting in the support of university events and external relations activities
  • providing administrative support to a range of projects and activities delivered by the team
  • managing the co-ordination of mass mailings from the team. 

You should have:

  • a GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above or an equivalent qualification
  • an administrative/secretarial qualification or equivalent
  • proven previous administrative experience
  • proven experience of working in a customer facing environment
  • proven proficiency in the use of Word and Excel
  • good organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and to work on your own and as part of a team.
