About the role:
The Department of Education at Anglia Ruskin University is one of the largest providers of initial teacher training in the East of England with campuses in the cities of Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough. We were one of the first Universities to develop a Foundation Degree in the Early Years, and continue to offer the Early Years Teacher Status for the Eastern Region. We are committed to achieving excellence in education and research.
You will join a well qualified, enthusiastic and friendly team with a national and regional reputation in the area of Early Childhood education and contribute to teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
We are looking for an experienced practitioner with considerable recent experience of working in Early Childhood settings and the wider community, with knowledge of the changing political pressures of an Early Years setting. You will have excellent knowledge of the subject area and an up to date understanding of the key issues. Experience of Playwork and the theories that underpin it would be an advantage. You will also have experience of working on work-centred learning courses at HE level and of supporting students in placement, in university and as distance learners. You will understand the specific needs of such students, and will be IT literate, familiar with the virtual and online learning and teaching environment.
Qualified to PhD level or nearing completion, you will be enthusiastic to engage in research and to assist us in developing our research profile, supported by our research institutes and an active departmental research community. You will also contribute to our ambitious plans to develop our international portfolio.
Informal enquires can be made to Head of Department of Education, Dr. Simon Pratt-Adams, at simon.pratt-adams@anglia.ac.uk or on 0845 196 3520.
