Outreach and Recruitment Officer
Anglia Ruskin University -Teaching, Research & Scholarship
Closing Date - 13 May 2013
About Anglia Ruskin University:
Help us continue to gain prominence both nationally and internationally. The facts speak for themselves; in the past four years our student numbers have grown from about 24,000 to around 30,000; the number of taught postgraduate students has increased by more than 1,000 and we earn more than £10 million a year from our work with industry. We are facing the future with great confidence and ambition and would like you to join us.
About the role:
We require a creative and confident communicator to join our Outreach and Recruitment Team. You will organise and deliver a range of events across all our campuses to maximise undergraduate recruitment opportunities and ensure delivery of our Access Agreement outreach objectives. These will include Faculty conferences, Open Days and Summer Schools.
With a sound knowledge of the Higher Education system you will work with students and their parents in schools and colleges across the East of England. You will create and deliver engaging Information Advice and Guidance talks and activities about a variety of subjects such as ‘Applying to University’ and ‘Student Finance’.
As an ambassador of our University you will promote our campuses and course portfolio, forming strong networks with staff in schools and colleges to raise our profile.
Educated to degree level, you must understand the key challenges facing potential HE students. You will be able to engage a wide range of audiences confidently and have experience of working with young people. A good organiser, you will be able to manage your own workload, work co-operatively as a member of a team and be customer focussed. You will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, and experience of devising and delivering innovative activities to a range of audiences.
Since many activities take place in the evening and away from our University, you will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours.
This appointment is subject to an enhanced level disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information can be obtained from https://www.gov.uk/crb-criminal-records-bureau-check.
Qualifications below degree level will be considered if applicants can demonstrate relevant experience and evidence of continuing professional development in an appropriate area of activity.
The interviews for the position are expected to take place on 25 June 2013.
We value diversity at Anglia Ruskin University and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
