University of Westminster -Research Office

£32,176 p.a. (incl. L.W.A.)

Fixed Term for 12 months

Cavendish Site, Central London

The Research Office is a busy unit responsible for providing management and administration services to support the University’s ambitious research agenda. In addition to the Research Excellence Framework (REF), we are responsible for supporting research policy, strategy, ethics, quality assurance, funder compliance and committees and we administer the recently launched University-wide Graduate School.

We are seeking to reinforce our professional support services for research through the busy REF2014 submission period, ensuring we continue to pursue our Graduate School development and research governance agendas. You will play an active role in developing and delivering policy and assurance frameworks supporting the diversification of the doctoral programme, working on projects for collaborative and professional doctorate provision. You will also provide professional support for the University’s research governance, integrity and ethics frameworks - developing policy and procedures, advising academic colleagues and students and undertaking the secretariat role for key committees including the University’s research and ethics committees.

You will have a strong background in Higher Education research support services; awareness of the wider policy and governance environment for HE research; enthusiasm for development projects combined with a track record of effective delivery; and a pro-active and positive approach to working with a wide range of colleagues. This fixed-term appointment provides an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive research administration experience in a dynamic and developing environment.
