The Portfolio of Legal Affairs, Cayman Islands Law School is currently inviting applications for:- Law Lecturer (LL.B).
The salary scale for these positions is US $87,424 to US $117,600 per annum.
The Cayman Islands Law School (“CILS”) is an affiliated institution of the University of Liverpool, whose LL.B Degree is offered through CILS. CILS has an established relationship with the University of Liverpool as a result of which it has offered the University’s LL.B Degree since 1982. All full time members of the teaching staff at CILS are designated as recognized law teachers of the University of Liverpool. CILS also offers a skills-based local Professional Practice Course (“PPC”) leading (following completion of articles) to the qualification of Attorney at Law of the Cayman Islands.
Law Lecturer (LL.B): Applications are invited from individuals who possess a at least an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Law, a professional or postgraduate qualification in law and previous relevant teaching experience at University level of at least 5 years. A Teaching qualification in post compulsory education would also be an advantage.
Applicants are expected to possess an established and proven track record of legal research and publication in internationally refereed law journals.
The appointment is on contract for two years in the first instance, with the option to seek renewal. Leave entitlement will be 25 working days per annum and benefits include air passages, baggage/freight and relocation allowances, Government Contributed Pension Scheme, Medical and Dental coverage is outlined in Schedule1 of the Personnel Regulations. Pension benefits will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Pensions Law (2004 Revision).
*No income tax is payable in the Cayman Islands.
