A recent Graduate is required as a Student Information Desk Advisor, working for the University’s Student Information Desk (SID) Team, in Exeter. The role will involve advising students of a wide range of support services offered by the University and is available for 6 months initially.

The post holder will maintain effective liaison and good working relationships between the Student Information Desk, professional services ‘back offices’, other information desk operations (including on other campuses), the network of student facing College Offices, the Forum facilities manager and Forum concierge. The post holder will also assist in promoting awareness of the Student Services Centre and SID as the first port of call of non-academic student enquiries. The post holder will be an expert user of our IT system, the Enterprise Service Desk (or SIDOnline) and will fully utilise its functionality. SIDOnline is the tool through which all enquiry responses will be referred and recorded, case records maintained, and appointments and room bookings managed. The post holder will respond to a wide range of student enquiries relating to the breadth of services that can be accessed at the Student Information Desk, offering front line assistance to students and updating the SIDOnline system that underpins the service.
The position of Student Information Desk Advisor offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in providing excellent customer service. They are looking for a dynamic graduate who has a ‘can-do’ attitude, is an excellent team player and is committed to providing an excellent student experience at all times, even under demanding, high-volume, busy periods such as Welcome Week. In addition, you should have excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, together with a presentable appearance and manner and the willingness to learn new skills. Finally you should have excellent IT skills (Outlook, Word and Excel) and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
