Two Assistant Professorships in Business Studies and Business Administration

The Department of Communication, Business and Information Technologies at Roskilde University, Denmark, invites applications for two three-year assistant professorship positions – one as assistant professor in Business Studies, the other as Assistant Professor in Business Administration.

Responsibilities and qualifications

We are interested in finding assistant professors with the research and teaching qualifications needed to make a substantial contribution to the further development of courses, supervision and the professional environment in these disciplines. The primary tasks are research, teaching and dissemination in at least one but preferably more special fields in business studies and business administration. In addition, you are expected to be a visible, active participant in the day-to-day activities of the department.

You will be part of an all-round, interdisciplinary scientific environment that is characterised by openness and a broad theoretical and methodological diversity.

We expected you to;

  • be able and willing to undertake teaching and supervision obligations in business economics, business studies and business administration at the undergraduate and graduate levels and as part of the department’s in-service training and further education activities.
  • have documented research and educational qualifications appropriate for a position at the level of assistant professor.
  • have a command of Danish (or Swedish/Norwegian) at a level sufficient to undertake teaching and supervision obligations in Danish and to participate in on-going administrative and collegial activities.
  • master English at a level sufficient to undertake teaching and supervision obligations in English.

We regard command of an additional language as an advantage.

Appointment

The positions are to be filled by 1st September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. Appointment as assistant professor is for three years.

The appointment will be in accordance with the employment agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, AC.

Appointment as an assistant professor presupposes that the applicant has documented scientific qualifications at doctoral level or equivalent.

  • A brief description of the research and development work you expect to perform in connection with your appointment, including a short description of how you view your qualifications in relation to the core academic aspects of business studies/business administration.
