£30,424 to £36,298 per annum

This post is part of the network team which is responsible for the delivery of voice and data services across all University campus locations.

The role holder will lead a project to complete the implementation of Voice over IP (VoIP) for the site, as well as managing and maintaining the existing VoIP and analogue service.  He or she will help to develop these traditional voice services to meet the on-going needs of the University.

The role holder will also be expected to support and develop core parts of the data network. Aspects may include, but are not limited to: security, quality of service, monitoring, performance and trending.

The University currently has a pair of Siemens ISDX/L exchanges with a few hundred extensions left on them.  The majority of the telephony provision is via a Siemens HiPath 8000 SIP VoIP solution.  The data network comprises a Brocade infrastructure providing around 24,000 network points across the University’s various sites.

You will have an IT-related degree or equivalent qualification and experience of supporting large scale network and telephony systems will be required. Evidence of managing support contracts is essential.
