The role As part of our new Service Management Division the Application Support Analyst will be a valued member of the Business Services team, reporting to the Application Support Manager. Working in a dynamic team you will be responsible for supporting the business with application issues/queries. Analysis and troubleshooting skills are essential daily routines whilst coordinating with other IT teams as required and taking ownership of business application incident and problems through to resolution. Ensure all service records are updated regularly with recent events and proposed action plans.
You must be able to understand a problem in business terminology and translate that clearly and concisely to the relevant IT teams. You will be responsible for specialist IT support, diagnosing service delivery problems for designated services and initiating appropriate actions to maintain or improve levels of service.
In addition, the Application Support Analyst will liaise internally and externally to define and manage business service change initiatives. You will lead the analysis, planning and design of business service release packages, specifying requirements to a level that enables effective delivery and contributes to the overall improvement of our service delivery, identifying and assessing associated risks.
Your profile Educated to bachelor degree level or with a relevant professional qualification, you will have demonstrable experience of working in an IT Support role and a good understanding of current and emerging technologies and standards in the industry. You will be able to demonstrate extensive and successful experience of helpdesk call logging/Service Management software and a strong understanding of ITIL best practice guidance, particularly with regard to Incident, Problem and Change Management techniques.
You will have the experience and technical knowledge to perform as an effective and operational team member; considering the wider impact of decisions, while assessing and ensuring appropriate resources and support are available to enable the team to achieve it objectives.
Experience supporting Business Services applications is essential and an ITIL v3 Qualification: Foundation Certificate is desirable.
