Based in the University of Exeter Medical School’s European Centre for Environment and Human Health, in Truro, Cornwall, this new, full-time post is available immediately for a period of 6 months. The post is funded with support from the European Regional Development Fund.

We are looking for an experienced and well-organised sport and health sciences / psychology graduate with expertise in a range of qualitative methods (including narrative inquiry), sociology of the body and mental health to contribute to work as part of a team investigating the narrative complexity of health and wellbeing in the context of physical activity within the natural environment.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to high quality qualitative research situated within the tradition of narrative inquiry. The work will focus on the role of the natural environment in supporting health and well-being within special populations.

The postholder will provide research assistance to support the qualitative research team, especially with regards to analysing and writing up qualitative data for publication. The post will be based in the European Centre for Environment and Human Health in Truro. 

The post will start as soon as possible, no later than 30 May 2013.

The starting salary will be from £19,056 - £22,020 on Grade D, depending on qualifications and experience.
