An exciting opportunity has arisen for a learning technology specialist to join the Department of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) at the University of Surrey in the role of Learning Technology Officer. This post is to support the implementation of the TEL strategy and lead the development of high quality digital content to promote pedagogic innovation across the institution. We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring learning technologist to work at senior level who can demonstrate a mix of creative and technical skills.
This role has a strong digital content development role, whereby the post holder is expected to work confidently with a range of digital media and possess in-depth knowledge of standards and formats for electronic publication. It is expected that the post holder will be able to draw upon their technical background to work with a variety of delivery platforms, such as web services and virtual learning environments.
The post holder will have the freedom to take a pro-active approach to achieve the desired results, while remaining consistent with the broader department strategy, as well as any guidance provided by the Head of Department.
The Department of Technology Enhanced Learning provides direction in the innovative use of educational technology across the disciplines by providing technical support and academic leadership for the continued development of excellence in this area. The Department aims to enhance the student learning experience and raise the aspirations of academic staff in their delivery of teaching, with the aim of supporting and inspiring the high quality teaching agenda across the University. The Department assists the Faculties in the implementation of the strategic priorities set out in the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy and in the evaluation of pedagogic practice related to the use of technology-enhanced teaching and learning
