Main Description
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs. Over the last few years BAS has developed a computer model of the Earth’s electron radiation belts that is now used to produce real-time forecasts of the high-energy electron population (www.fp7-spacecast.eu).
We are looking to appoint a Software Developer to develop software packages which are to provide a suite of data management and data access tools to enable both internal and external access to BAS Space Weather Services.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a HNC or Higher Qualification
Duration: Fixed term appointment untill 31st March
Salary: Salary will be in the range of £26,450 to £29,710 per annum. We offer a generous benefits package including a defined salary pension scheme, free car parking, flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.
