Annual Salary will be in the range £17,503 to £19,606 plus £2,323 London Allowance
This full-time post is available immediately.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced library assistant to join the Inter-Library Loans Team in the User Services section of the Newsam Library and Archives at the Institute of Education.
You will play an important role in the provision of inter-library loans, document supply and digitisation services within the Library. You will carry out administrative tasks relating to inter- library loan procedures, including the checking of user requests and satisfying requests from other libraries. You will provide support to our Digitisation Team in the digitisation of materials such as PhD theses. You will also carry out regular shifts at the Library Issue Counter and Membership Desk.
You will have experience of working in a customer service environment, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate your ability to work both independently and as a team member. Accuracy and a methodical approach are essential, along with flexibility, adaptability and a genuine interest in contributing to the delivery of quality services to students and staff. Good IT skills are required. Experience of working in an academic library and of using an automated library system is essential.
