Salary: £30,424 - £33,230 per annum with potential to progress to £36,298 per annum on achieving designated skills and experience.

This is a full time position working 37 hours per week.

We are looking for an individual to take responsibility for the development and delivery of a strategy to attract mid-level donations (£1,000 - £20,000) and regular giving, through a range of activities including community fundraising and phone campaigns. He/she will oversee the disbursement of grants in support of the University of Hertfordshire’s Annual Fund, known as the Diamond Fund.

The post holder will be responsible for increasing philanthropic revenue from alumni, corporations and high net worth individuals in support of the Diamond Fund. They will also work as part of the team to developing a culture of philanthropy within the University community through the effective publicity of the campaigns, the disbursement of funds and reporting to donors. They will be required to accelerate efficient and effective use of the University’s Customer Relationship Management Systems and produce reports to provide analyses on income and expenditure in relation to the Annual Fund.

The Development Officer will build strong relationships with key academic staff, members of the University’s Court, Board of Governors and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor to help facilitate relationships with potential donors.  In addition he/she will also manage a portfolio of relationships to secure philanthropy.

He/she will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, strong organisational and communication skills, proven practical IT skills, knowledge of data analytics and report writing, confidence in using an array of online and offline applications and experience in data quality techniques.

Under current UKBA regulations, the University is unlikely to be able to get a work permit in respect of this post. We can therefore only accept applications from people who will have the right to work in the UK for at least one year from the date of appointment.
