Applications are invited for a tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor in Linguistics in the department of Linguistics, School of Humanities, from as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. Appointees with demonstrated performance will be considered for tenure towards the end of the second three-year contract.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree by the date of appointment. The successful candidate should have demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary research and a promising record of publications with potential impact on the field. The department is looking for a candidate to complement and strengthen the current profile of research and teaching. Applications from scholars with specialization in cognitive linguistics, broadly construed, are particularly welcome. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered, as well as leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. Appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
