Senior International Officer

Fixed Term

Salary: £37,382 per annum (pro rata for part time) with USS Pension benefits, if required.

Applicants are invited for the position of Fixed Term Senior International Officer in the College of Science, reference AC00222. This is a fixed term post between 1st August 2013 until 31st July 2014.

The successful candidate will represent Swansea University internationally, raising our international brand and profile and contributing to the achievement of the University’s targets for international student recruitment as part of its Internationalisation Strategy.  The post holder will have responsibility for determining, planning and managing the University’s marketing activities in East Asia, mainly China and Hong Kong.

Previous experience of relationship building, recruitment and marketing in international Higher Education is required. Candidates need to demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to analyse markets and develop appropriate marketing strategies. The post holder will be responsible for allocated budgets and should have experience of influencing decision makers and demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and innovate.  

Professionalism, flexibility, self-motivation and a determination to succeed as a member of the International Development Office are essential. Candidates will have a degree or equivalent, and ideally a relevant postgraduate qualification. The ability to travel extensively is essential and the ability to speak Mandarin is desirable.
