Clinical Gait Analyst
University of Salford -College of Health & Social Care
£37,012 - £44,166 PA
Ref: 1324244
Permanent Part time
This is an exciting opportunity to join with Professor Richard Baker in establishing GAITway as a European Centre of Excellence in Clinical Gait Analysis. You will have responsibility for the operation of the Clinical Gait Analysis Service (with the support of a technician). We intend to continue this as a low throughput, high quality service as a model of clinical best practice. You will also have a significant role in developing and delivering education and training as continuing professional development courses and customized packages for industry. Whilst clinical service delivery and education and training will be your primary foci you will also be encouraged to have an active role in our research programme.
Central to our philosophy is the concept of the Clinical Gait Analyst; a single profession with cross-disciplinary skills who is competent to take responsibility for all aspects of the gait analysis process. You will thus have a drive to develop your skill set to fulfil such a role and a willingness to teach this to other health professionals from a range of different backgrounds at a European level.
You will have experience of clinical movement analysis and be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)*. A post-graduate degree and/or some experience of teaching are desirable. We would be particularly keen to recruit someone with a strong clinical background to complement Professor Baker’s more technical expertise.
