Senior Library Assistant (Ophthalmology)

Full Time: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £26,186 - £30,688 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

A vacancy has arisen for a full time Senior Library Assistant based at the Joint Library of Ophthalmology, Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, which is part of UCL Library Services, a large, multi-site academic library service in central London.

You will be part of a team of three, providing high quality information services within the library. The main duties of the post include contributing to the day to day running of library services including issue and enquiry duties, to assist with information skills training to library users, to provide assistance with IT and to provide clerical support for all library functions as directed by the Deputy Librarian and Librarian.

The successful applicant will have good administrative and IT skills and enthusiasm for helping and training library users seeking to gain varied library and professional experience. Previous experience of working in a health or medical library is desirable. A familiarity with a range of databases, including PubMed, Cinahl and NHS Evidence resources is also desirable.
