We have been awarded funding for a researcher with a relevant degree, plus an MSc or PhD in Social Sciences, to work across two projects.
The aim of Project One (FAKECARE) is to develop expertise in tackling the trade in fake medicine on the Internet. To support this project you will undertake a range of online and offline research activities, such as quantitative and qualitative analyses, virtual ethnography and literature reviews.
The aim of Project Two (FINOCA) is to examine the sources, mechanisms and approaches behind the financing of organised crime and this project will require you to write literature reviews, contact interviewees, conduct interviews and analyse data.
It is essential that you have good SPSS skills, experience in qualitative research and the ability to analyse and interpret results. You must also be able to plan, prioritise and organise your own research and resources whilst working constructively under pressure to achieve agreed objectives and must possess good communication skills.
