Senior Lecturer/Reader in International Human Resource Management

Cardiff University -Cardiff Business School

Cardiff Business School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Reader in International Human Resource Management with effect from 1 August 2013. Appointment will be made on the Readership scale for an exceptional candidate with an emerging international research reputation.

The successful candidate will join the HRM section of Cardiff Business School, a group of about forty academics in the fields of International Management, HRM, Industrial Relations, Organisational Studies and Public Management. Many of the section's academics are acknowledged world-leaders in their fields of study and collectively the group has a very strong research ethos and record.

The person appointed will be a specialist in International Human Resources Management with the capacity to contribute to research and teaching in the more general field of International Management. He or she will become part of two overlapping research groups in the School, the Employment Research Unit, which brings together scholars in Industrial Relations, HRM and the Sociology of Work and Employment and the International Management Research Group, which provides a focus for all researchers within the School who have an interest in international business, its environment and regulation.

In September 2013 the HRM Section is launching a new MSc in International Management and hopes to develop a linked programme in International Human Resource Management in 2014. It is intended that the successful candidate will contribute actively to these new programmes of study. He or she may also contribute to the Section’s established MSc in Human Resource Management and to general management programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

It is essential that the person appointed to this position has a strong return for the Research Excellence Framework and is in a position to take up the role prior to October 31st 2013.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, on an ongoing contract.

Salary Range: £45,941 to £53,233
