Lectureship in Chinese Religions

Job Summary

You will teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules such as Chinese religion and Chinese politics, and will contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate language programme at all levels. You will also act as dissertation supervisor to final year undergraduates and MA students, and you will contribute to the School’s MA in Advanced Translation Studies (Chinese to English specialised and extended translations). More broadly, you will work with colleagues at Leeds, and develop collaborative links through the White Rose East Asia Centre (WREAC), to develop research and teaching on East Asian religions.

You will have a PhD in Chinese studies with a focus on religions in contemporary China, and you will have relevant teaching experience in the UK Higher Education sector. You will have a record of research activity and publications commensurate with experience which will demonstrate either a distinctive contribution to research and impact in this subject area, or else the potential for this.

You will be expected to undertake a significant administrative duty within East Asian Studies. You will also be expected to undertake further administrative tasks as required by the School.

University Grade 7 (£33,230 - £36,298 p.a.) or University Grade 8 (£37,382 - £44,607 p.a.)
