Fixed Term Contract for 10 Months
The post is within a DSTL funded project aiming to develop a system for recognising human actions and predicting human activities. Specifically the project will develop computer vision algorithms for classifying human actions and predicting an intentional activity. The project is expected to deliver a near real-time operation. This is a mathematically challenging project requiring expertise in image processing, computer vision, mathematical modelling, algorithmic developments and software development.
You will be will be responsible for day-to-day running of the project, the timely delivery of set research milestones and deliverables, regular reporting to project manager, preparation of demonstrations and reports for reviews by the project funder, and writing journal papers.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in image processing or computer vision, preferably with expertise in human action recognition, silhouette-based image analysis, graph-based classification and real-time image analysis. You will have proven ability to write reports, and contribute to academic papers. You will be self-motivated to achieve research objectives.
