Applications are invited for two (2) fulltime lectureships in Modern Irish, beginning 1 September 2013. The persons appointed shall be members of Roinn na Gaeilge in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.
The persons appointed will have a doctorate in Modern Irish, or in an equivalent field, and will have substantial experience of research and of having published research. Applicants who have successfully completed their Viva examination for the PhD by 1 June 2013 will be considered. One person appointed will be a specialist in modern Irish Literature and one person appointed will be a specialist in Irish Literature of the period 17th-19th centuries.
The persons appointed will be able to teach Modern Irish, including language, literature and culture, in areas other than their specialisms, on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Roinn na Gaeilge.
The persons appointed will be able to carry out postgraduate supervision in Modern Irish and in associated areas, to develop new teaching programmes and new research proposals, and ordinary administrative work relating to the subject and to Roinn na Gaeilge.
The persons appointed will be able to carry out post duties in Irish and English.

Salary: At Lecturer Below the Bar level
€36,230 p.a. to €51,104 p.a.(applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Below the Bar scale in line with current Government pay policy)
(For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)
