About the Post This post offers an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development of Marketing research and teaching in the School. Applicants for the Senior Lectureship will be established academics with strong publication records, while applicants for the Lectureship will be at least at post-doctoral level.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong research record or have a demonstrable potential at an international level. They should have the ability to teach and supervise effectively students undertaking marketing modules across our main undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We will consider applications from any field of marketing but are particularly interested in the areas of business marketing, strategic marketing, marketing psychology, marketing communications and international marketing.
Responsibilities For the lectureship we are keen to invite applications from individuals at any stage of their academic career. Candidates in the early stages of their career should have a completed doctorate (or have a doctorate under examination) by October 2011 and be able to demonstrate the capacity for international-level research achievement. More experienced candidates will be expected to have a significant publication record. For the senior lectureship the successful applicant will already be an established academic and be expected to have a strong publication record. It would be useful, but not essential, if applicants were able to demonstrate evidence of research activities in marketing, which align with the interests of existing School academic staff. It should also be noted that Professor Stephan Henneberg is joining the School as Chair of Marketing and Strategy from this Summer.
The successful candidate will be joining a School, which is undergoing a new stage of development under its Head of School, Professor Martin Laffin. This development involves ambitious new teaching and research programmes, as well as our distinctive commitment to inter-disciplinary research and teaching.
We will ensure that the successful candidate has the opportunity to develop her or his research either individually or as part of a research group or centre. Mentoring and other support will be provided if appropriate. The School has a generous policy on supporting international conference attendance and providing seed corn funding for research. The University also has a policy on Research Leave which will allow the successful candidates to apply for leave, one year in every seven year period.
Remuneration & Benefits The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £34,283 -£56,185 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
