Salary:  £29,000 - £31,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with excellent customer-care and team-working skills, to oversee the overall operation of the Student Immigration Advisory Service within our Student Registry department.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or above with previous experience of providing advice and guidance, and be an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable team player. You will have experience of working with international students within a professional setting and of managing a client caseload as well as an up to date knowledge of current legislation relating to visas and immigration and of the support needs of international students. This is to include overseeing the operation and administration of the College Tier 4 Student Batch Scheme. 

The post holder will have line management responsibility of two International Student Advisors therefore previous line management experience would be an advantage.

You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and communicate complex legislation and government guidelines. In addition, the post holder must have an understanding and appreciation of the support needs of international students, cultural differences and have the ability to relate well to people from diverse cultural backgrounds. 

You will have a proven record of working in a high pressure environment, preferably in higher education setting.

You will have additional responsibility with assisting the Student Retention & UKBA Compliance Manager with project work.

You must be computer literate with accurate keyboard skills and have knowledge of the Microsoft office systems and databases. Excellent communication, time-management and organisational skills are essential. Experience using SITS Student Records System would be an advantage.
