We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, energetic and talented post-doctoral researcher to work on a 3-year EPSRC-funded project to determine how freely moving human observers represent and navigate through a scene.
You will run psychophysical experiments in an immersive virtual reality laboratory and will have the opportunity to collaborate with robotics experts in navigation, mapping and novel view-based methods of 3D scene representation.
The post will provide an ideal training for those interested in working at the interface of neuroscience and computer vision. The project is part of a thriving neuroscience community in Reading based in the new Centre for Integrated Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN).
You will have:
- a PhD in neuroscience, psychology or a physical science (such as engineering or computer science) with an enthusiasm to apply your knowledge to neuroscience
- good programming ability (ideally with proficiency in C++/OpenGL, Matlab or preferably both)
- experience in running experiments, analysing data and bringing results to publication
- enthusiasm, dedication and independence
