The Law School at Plymouth University has some 650 students studying for undergraduate degrees and postgraduate research degrees in law and criminology, as well as running the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course. The School is made up of around 35 permanent academic staff and is looking to develop its law offering, building upon a growing research profile and reputation through the activities of the Law and Criminal Justice Research Centre.
The Law School is seeking to make three appointments in Law, two of which may be at the level of Associate Professor. We are looking for individuals who can provide teaching across our existing programmes, and who can contribute to the development and delivery of our taught masters provision. Ideally candidates would be able to teach one or more of the foundations of legal knowledge, as well as contributing their own particular specialism. Some experience of teaching at University level is essential, as is a demonstrable interest in research and scholarship. For at least one of the posts an expertise in international law, particularly in marine, sustainability, maritime or related commercial areas, would be very welcome.
