Assistive Technology Trainer / Specific Learning Difficulties Adviser

Salary: Grade 5: £22,700 - £25,504 (with possible progression to £27,854)
We are seeking a confident and competent person with experience of working with disabled students, preferably at Higher Education level, to work with our Disability Advisers to provide training in assistive technology, and other support, advice and guidance to our students who are living with disabilities.
The main objectives of this post are to:
- Provide enabling Assistive Technology training to individuals and groups.
- Provide DSA application support for continuing students
- Assist in the support for Specific Learning Difficulties tutors
- Assist in the provision and development of our Needs Assessment Centre
- Assist with administration and record keeping activities [including financial invoicing]
Experience of supporting students living with dyslexia and other disabilities, and of using assistive technology is essential, as is providing assistive technology training.
You must be educated to degree level or equivalent and be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion. You will have strong communication and administration skills, a sensitive approach to working with vulnerable learners and the ability to work independently.
