The University of Northampton -Centre for the Study of Anomalous Psychological Processes
15 Hours Per Week, Fixed Term for 18 Months - Commencing 1 July 2013 or soon after
£20,172-24,049 per annum, pro rata
Based in the Centre for the Study of Anomalous Psychological Processes in the Division of Psychology you will contribute to two projects funded by the Bial Foundation.
The aim of the first project is to investigate the counselling experiences of clients who report anomalous experiences and will involve the design and administration of an online/paper questionnaire and interviews with counsellors and clients. The second project will investigate the training experiences/needs of therapists who may work with clients who report such experiences and will involve an audit of clinical psychology and counselling training courses and focus groups with clinical psychology and counselling trainees.
You should have a first degree in Psychology or a relevant related discipline. A Masters in a relevant subject would be advantageous. Competence in both qualitative and quantitative methodology and good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Previous experience of working as a research assistant is desirable, as is knowledge of clinical parapsychology. The successful candidate should adhere to professional ethical guidelines at all times.
