We wish to recruit a Temporary University Lecturer in Microbiology or Parasitology to establish a group in the Division of Microbiology & Parasitology.

This position will be for a maximum of 5 years.

The successful candidate will be provided with laboratory space and a PhD-studentship in the Department of Pathology, Tennis Court Road. It is expected that he/she will obtain research grants to build a research group. Candidates should have an excellent career track-record and have high quality research plans that are either novel or can complement our current research.

For parasitology current research includes toxoplasma host-parasite interactions, trypanosome cell biology, and helminth immunoepidemiology. Our current work is indicated here: http://www.path.cam.ac.uk/research/parasitology.html

In Microbiology we are looking for someone using molecular, biochemical, cellular and structural approaches to gain a mechanistic understanding of bacterial pathogen cell function and/or interaction with host cells. This post is fixed-term for 5 years or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

This appointment is subject to a health assessment. Whether an outcome is satisfactory will be determined by the University.
