EngD Studentship
Systems level diagnostics and health monitoring of complex electrical systems
University of Warwick -Warwick Manufacturing Group
Currently root-cause electrical and electronic faults in vehicles are difficult to detect due to the large number of interacting systems and distributed control leading to emergent behaviour. How do you improve the ability to diagnose and the confidence of diagnosis with currently available technology. What data is required to improve upon current abilities and what would be the impact? In addition how can this be expanded to include health usage monitoring (HUM) for these systems, how could this build into a complete health monitoring and diagnosis system for individual vehicles and whole populations. This would ideally lead to prognosis and preventative maintenance capabilities reducing customer complaints.
