Applications are invited for the above post, which offers outstanding opportunities to pursue an academic career in clinical informatics. Cambridge University Hospitals is in the process of establishing an electronic patient records system to replace the entire clinical and clinical-related administrative IT infrastructure and application software suite with a single integrated 'eHospital' system. The NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), a partnership between University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals, is committing substantial funding to ensure coded clinical data supports health research. Strong statistical, computational biology and bioinformatics support is provided by close links with the MRC BioStatistics Unit, European Bioinformatics Institute, Wellcome Trust Sanger Centre and Cancer Research UK, Cambridge Institute.
Clinical duties will represent approximately 50% of the job plan, and applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register. The successful applicants will also have a role in supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The host Academic Department within the School of Clinical Medicine will depend on the clinical and research interests of the successful applicant.
This appointment is subject to a health assessment. Whether an outcome is satisfactory will be determined by the University.
