Fixed Term Contract for 24 Months
You will work on a project funded by the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC). The project is based on the development of a soluble lead-acid flow battery for grid-scale applications. This is a joint project between the University of Warwick, C-Tech Innovations, the University of Southampton and E.On. Your specific role will be to apply methods of regression and optimization to data from laboratory experiments, in order to suggest improved designs and to optimize the proposed flow battery. You will join a group of 1 postdoctoral fellow and 3 PhDs working on related topics.
You will have a PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering (or a closely related discipline) with a specialisation in optimisation and/or regression is essential. Experience beyond PhD level will be sought, together with evidence of an ability to work independently and to take the lead in producing high-quality publications. Familiarity with surrogate based modelling and experience of handling laboratory data would be highly desirable. For further details or for an informal discussion please feel free to contact Dr Akeel Shah at Akeel.Shah@warwick.ac.uk.
